COLD COMPOSTING

This is a process of adding organic materials to a pile over the season. Cold composting is an easy low maintenance method of utilising garden resources, which break down slowly over time. Things to note with cold composting is that because there is no heat generated in the pile, weed seeds stay intact, and plant diseases and pathogens are not destroyed. This process also takes a considerable amount of time to break down. However, sometimes this is the best option for the time and energy available.  We all have to find what works best for our garden context.
