Grow Wānaka garlic

WORKING BEES

Grow Wānaka runs Bee & Tea working bees every Saturday morning year round. In Spring, Summer and early Autumn the hours are 9:30am to 12pm, and in late Autumn through winter 10am to 12pm.

We also run Bee & Brew working bee sessions from 4:30-6pm every Wednesday in Summer, sponsored with fizzy drinks from our local breweries Rhyme & Reason and B. Effect, and also Sidekick Soda, cheers!

Grow Wānaka Garden Tour Fundraiser

Time: 3-4pm

 

Join us Wednesday evening for an in-depth tour of the garden and site followed by light afternoon tea and refreshing beverages. We'll share our many techniques for building soil health and fertility, pest management for organic growing, nutrient cycling and options for compost creation, and time for Q&A while we enjoy light afternoon tea.

Tour is $15.00 and includes a light afternoon tea. All proceeds go to supporting Grow Wānaka's Community Garden, Composting Centre and Education Hub.

Grow Celebration Sizzle

March 8th, 2025
Time: 9:30am - 1:00pm

 

A harvest season potluck sizzle celebration.  

 

Come for the working bee and stay for the potluck lunch, as we celebrate the harvest season and the abundance of the garden. 

This is a zero waste event so please byo cutlery, camp chair if you have one, and something to share (nibbles, main, something for the bbq or dessert). We'll have the bbq fired up, fresh produce from the garden, and refreshing drinks.

Herbal Culture - Tea Making Workshop

Wednesday evening 12th February, 2025
Time: 5:30pm - 6:30pm 

Grow Wānaka Community Garden

Loran from Herbal Culture will be sharing her knowledge of tea making with us in this fantastic garden workshop. We will be making tea from both fresh and died herbs grown and harvested locally.

All that is needed is a couple jars or bags to store your creations and a cup for tasting.

Harvest Homegrown - Microgreens Workshop

Erin from Harvest Homegrown will be sharing her expertise of microgreens in this garden workshop. You'll learn about the benefits of microgreens, how to grow them, and get tips and tricks for home microgreen growing success.

Te Kākano - Harakeke Plant Guard Workshop 

5th April, 2025

The Te Kākano team are running a harakeke plant guard weaving workshop at Grow Wānaka Community Garden.

You will learn the tikanga around harvesting and working with harakeke, and then weave a plant guard.

 

A free workshop but with limited spaces for 20 people bookings are essential. To book your spot email your details to info@growwanaka.com
